Video Premieres: Female takeover

May 2012 was a big one for Barbz (Nicki Minaj fans) and Teairra Mari fans. Both ladies premiered new videos, Nicki Minaj premeiered “Right By My Side” ft.Chris Brown Wednesday on MTV and Teairrra Mari on Friday premiered “U Did That” on BET.

Nicki’s video was in true Nicki character…It played more like a mini movie full of colors and fun. How could it not be though, with attractive eyecandy in her video like leading male Nas and the feature of Chris Brown (I would take that place anyday….And I’m sure the ladies agree). Men don’t worry she still kept it sexy for you, but this time in a more girly and subtle manner. She played around with floral prints and active wear with a fashion forward approach. The banger or shocker to newcomers of Nicki’s world, is definitely the kiss that her and Nas share at the closing of the video. “Right By My Side” for sure captured her sexy and playful side while still being the edgy and all up in your face female….I must say that Nicki Minaj makes males and females MUST love her!

On the contrast Teairra Mari’s video was more in your face sexual with the dance moves and bodily gestures.  It opened up with 2 Chainz then Ms. Mari took the lead. The video was about giving a guy a wakeup call that someone else could be taking his spot and doing it better. It was a dark and sultry video and definitely fit the smooth sound of the track.

Both ladies showed up and showed out on their new videos and I believe that there is so much more to come from them this year.
